oh my gourd!
Every fall, my friend Laura paints gourds for Halloween. They are the COOLEST and they sell like hotcakes! How can you resist these gouly gourds?! If you're in the Marlboro area, go buy some at Trombetta's Garden Center and have some delicious homemade ice cream while you're at it! Yum! These gourds look like evil friends! AWESOME!

Make like a baby and head out....

to your friendly neighborhood wig shop for your 'weenie costume before they sell out of the good stuff! Don't forget your pets. Although it's a bit cruel to dress up Poopsie as Sarah Palin. Ugh. Don't have a Halloween party to go to? Throw your own.
Or have a cocktail party and go out to a bar dressed up. The bar patrons will dig it.... or beat you up. But hey, take the chance. Life is full of risks.
Yahooooooooo!

Doin' The Madison
This is a scene from the 1988 John Waters film Hairspray. Waters was a teenager living in Baltimore in the early 60s. From 1957–1964, The Buddy Deane Show broadcast from Baltimore five days a week and on Saturdays. Hairspray is based on this program. Here's information about the time period. More information here.
The Buddy Deane Show
completely awful song...
but excellent footage of the Buddy Deane Show circa 1962. Some chick is singing a horrible song that she wrote. This was at the beginning of the dance craze era starting with the Twist and the Mashed Potato. Think of how nasty and jealous some of the other girls must've been! Just like Amber Von Tussle. They all look like secretaries. Waaaaaaaahhh!
