From December 1960 to May 1982, WABC in New York City was the definition of Top 40 radio. It was the most influencial music radio station of its day and had the power to make hit records. I really dug a recent show by a guest dj on WMBR's Lost and Found who spun his childhood 45s from the 50s and 60s. Still in their original cases, the records were a fantastic musical glimpse into his life and I loved his anecdotes. I put many of the songs in the "I would've bought that 45" category. Boomtown tv show

If you were a kid living in the Boston area between 1956-1974, then you probably watched Boomtown hosted by the beloved Rex Trailer. What I recall most was the theme song Hoofbeats and how the audience entered the studio waving to Hey Look Me Over with some in their Cub Scout and Brownie uniforms. At Halloween the kids wore costumes.
