I really dug a recent show by a guest dj on WMBR's Lost and Found who spun his childhood 45s from the 50s and 60s. Still in their original cases, the records were a fantastic musical glimpse into his life and I loved his anecdotes. I put many of the songs in the "I would've bought that 45" category. In the late 1950s and throughout the 60s, many cities created their own "American Bandstand" at the tv studio with the weatherman as host. This video is like a car crash. I can't look away. Besides, I love the song (thanks Alex). It is so awkward, innocent and white-bread. Thank God footage like this exists when kids danced together pre-twist.

Eugene Church

Thanks to Christopher from Lost and Found, I now have a new favorite song. Eugene Church had a big hit with Pretty Girls Everywhere in 1958. Here are The Walker Brothers doing a version. Lol. Yeah!
