American International Pictures
AIP started in 1955, cranking out a ton of double-feature, B-movies aimed at teenagers with lots of music, fast cars and swinging.
Here's Michael Landon in I Was a Teenage Werewolf. Rrrrrr!
Here's the trailer from Riot on Sunset Strip, circa 1967
Candy Johnson during closing credits from 1963
Here's the trailer for Muscle Beach Party for a kooky slice of 1964.
Check out James Brown singing I Got You in 1965's Ski Party.

Dr. Goldfoot and his Bikini Machine was cinema at its best.

k.d. lang
I saw k.d. lang last night at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. What a great place to see a show. It's a revolving theatre-in-the-round stage and quite intimate. It's only an hour from Boston if you drive quickly. Just kidding. Not really. Her voice is the best and her show was fantastic.

Darlene Love
Great beach read if you like reading about the music industry, particularly 60s pop and soul. In Darlene Love's book My Name Is Love, her candor is so refreshing, I like her even more. Plus, juicy rock and roll tidbits, but not gross tidbits. Check out some of the characters: The Blossoms,
Shindig!, The Righteous Brothers, Phil Spector, Sonny and Cher,
Tom Jones, Nino Tempo, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick and Ike and Tina Turner.

If you see this ghoul, play it cool
Making hey-hey in the moonlight while the monster waits, watches.
Such a happy theme song for a movie about killer jello.
Check out Robot Monster from 1953. Whaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!

Here you go. You're welcome. Nice colors and Ray Charles too.
As you can see, Billy then grew out his hair a little. Whooooaaahh!

Mister Man
My friend Laura has two cool mannequins, Mister Man and Bobby Boy. We like to take them places, but they can be real stiffs.
good thing I have a huge duffle bag...
to drag his torso down the beach. Big duffle bags come in handy when you need to drag a torso to a wooded area.. I mean somewhere.
waiting for him to get dressed...
is such a drag because he has eight personalities. Who am I today? Stylish geek? Russian spy? Biker? Hurry up already!
